Hi and welcome!
I'm Kim Roberts, a Certified Life Coach and Certified Health & Wellness Coach with a passion for helping people reach their full potential.
I believe everyone (including you) deserves a life story where you aren’t just the main character, but the author holding the pen. I also know how hard "putting pen to paper" and making things happen can be. So many times, our current life circumstances, health struggles, or even previous regrettable choices can make us forget that we all have the power to turn things around. The good news is everything we need to make a change is already within us… even if we aren’t able to recognize it quite yet. You deserve to live a life full of joy and meaning and magic. After all, it's your life, it's your story, and no one else's.
My journey to become a Health & Wellness Coach ultimately began in my mid-20’s when I developed symptoms of significant health issues that progressed to years of costly misdiagnoses, medical mismanagement, two surgeries, and the eventual diagnosis of several chronic conditions including one for which little is known and no treatment option is available. As a result, I felt robbed of a normal life. I was resentful, frustrated, angry, and depressed and when I wasn't resentful, frustrated, angry, or depressed, I literally felt nothing, nothing at all. I have a deep understanding of the place one’s mind goes when giving up and giving in are easier options than moving forward. Fortunately, I found ways to navigate past the darkness caused by these significant health challenges- some ways I developed out of the need to survive and some ways I was shown by mental health specialists. Helping others by sharing life-tested mechanisms for “thriving, not just surviving” was the natural next step in my journey. Becoming a Certified Health & Wellness Coach has become my forum for doing so.
My interest in becoming a Life Coach began the Summer of 2015 when I was commissioned to develop and present a “Self Discovery & Self Expression through the Arts” program for teen mothers who, along with their young children, were in the protective custody of the Department of Social Services. I was deeply moved by the impact this program had on both myself and the participants. I was so proud of the strides these teens made towards healing and expressing themselves. I was humbled when my most challenging participant went from angry and non-participatory to someone who felt moved to write an unprompted letter of gratitude following the sessions. Witnessing the life-changing power that listening without judgement and “holding a space” for someone can have on a hurting soul led me to become a Certified Life Coach.
